Mower Features:
Automatic Control Traction
This exclusive feature available on many Simplicity tractors provides extra traction when you need it the most. During a turn, lawn and garden tractor transmissions transfer power from the inside wheel to the outside wheel, allowing them to rotate at different speeds, and corner smoothly. But, if a wheel starts to slip, transmissions without Automatic Controlled Traction transfer all the power to the slipping wheel, and the tractor stops. On a Simplicity tractor with Automatic Controlled Traction, some power is also applied to the non-slipping wheel. By powering both wheels, Automatic Controlled Traction can help keep you from getting stuck in slippery conditions. Here's how it works: Simplicity Automatic Controlled Traction transmissions have a preset amount of friction built into the transmission differential. So, if the left tire starts to slip, that preset friction applies some power to the right tire. If the right tire slips, that preset friction applies power to the left tire. And that extra power is often just enough to keep you out of trouble. So, if a tire starts to slip, don't speed up—simply stop and slowly accelerate. By stopping and slowly accelerating, Simplicity's Automatic Controlled Traction can apply the greatest amount of force to the non-slipping wheel. While no traction control system can handle extremely slippery conditions, Automatic Controlled Traction greatly enhances the performance of Simplicity tractors in challenging conditions, and because it works automatically, it's there when you need it. Automatic Controlled Traction—another innovative exclusive from Simplicity.
